Top Xbox Games: A Series Tier List

After a robust Xbox Developer Direct to start 2025, Microsoft's future looks bright, especially with its impressive lineup of first-party studios. Whether you're reminiscing about the golden days of the Xbox 360 or eagerly anticipating Microsoft's games on other platforms like PlayStation, there's a wealth of iconic game series to choose from. With Microsoft's acquisitions of Bethesda and Activision Blizzard, we now have an even broader selection to consider. This tier list includes series from Xbox, Bethesda, and Activision Blizzard that have seen multiple entries. While not exhaustive, it covers both current relevance and historical impact. Here's a look at my personal tier list, reflecting the games I've enjoyed most over the years:

Doom easily secures an S-tier spot for me, thanks to the recent entries being among my favorite first-person shooters. The upcoming Doom: The Dark Ages looks promising, suggesting id Software is maintaining its high standards. Forza Horizon also earns an S-tier ranking; these games, possibly surpassed only by Burnout 3 and Burnout Revenge, stand out as the best racing games I've experienced. Placing Halo in the A tier might surprise some, but while Halo 2 and Halo 3 are exceptional campaign shooters, recent inconsistencies prevent it from reaching the top tier. I'm also more of a Fallout fan than an Elder Scrolls one; I'd choose power armor over a dragon any day.
