MultiVersus presented two last characters while fans threaten game developers

The saga of MultiVersus deserves a chapter in gaming history, a cautionary tale alongside other high-profile failures. Yet, the game isn't quite finished, with developers announcing its final two characters: Lola Bunny and Aquaman.

This announcement comes against a backdrop of escalating fan frustration, some expressing their disappointment through threats directed at the development team. MultiVersus game director Tony Huynh responded with a lengthy message, pleading with players to refrain from such behavior.

Huynh apologized to fans whose desired characters never made it into the game, expressing hope they'll still enjoy the content of the final Season 5. He explained that character selection involves numerous complex factors, and his personal influence is less significant than some players believe.

Following the shutdown announcement, some players voiced concerns about their inability to spend in-game tokens on new characters—a promised benefit for purchasers of the $100 edition. This unfulfilled promise may have contributed to the negative reactions and threats.
