Insomniac Games almost gave us Resistance 4. While a pitch was made and the concept was strong, according to founding president Ted Price (now retiring after 30 years), the timing and market opportunity weren't right. Price recently revealed this during an interview with Kinda Funny Games, expressing the team's passion for the series and its unique alternate history setting, brimming with potential Chimera storylines.

The Resistance series, a trio of PlayStation 3 first-person shooters, followed Insomniac's Ratchet & Clank work. This alternate history saga, beginning with an alien invasion of 1951 UK, concluded with the third game before Insomniac shifted focus to titles like Marvel's Spider-Man and newer Ratchet & Clank installments.

Price's retirement announcement earlier this year paved the way for Chad Dezern, Ryan Schneider, and Jen Huang to take the reins as Co-Studio Heads. Insomniac's latest release, Marvel's Spider-Man 2, recently launched on PC, with Marvel's Wolverine next in the pipeline.
