LEGO CEO Niels Christiansen has shared exciting news about the company's future, emphasizing a significant expansion into the digital realm through video game development. LEGO aims to craft engaging experiences for children of all ages, both digitally and physically, by creating games internally and through strategic partnerships.

"We are confident that, as long as we operate under the LEGO brand, we aim to create experiences for children of all ages across both digital and physical platforms. Developing games internally is something we are actively pursuing." Niels Christiansen

This strategic shift doesn't mean LEGO will abandon its successful model of licensing its brand to third-party developers. For instance, TT Games, renowned for its LEGO-themed titles, is reportedly working on a new LEGO game, possibly linked to a Warner Bros. franchise, as mentioned by journalist Jason Schreier.

LEGO's most notable gaming venture currently is its collaboration with Epic Games. The introduction of a LEGO-themed mode in Fortnite last year became a massive hit, showcasing LEGO's potential in the gaming world.

The company has also been a key player in the adventure game genre, thanks to TT Games' efforts over the past two decades. Although new releases have been scarce recently, there are whispers of a new LEGO Harry Potter game in development, inspired by the success of the commercially successful LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga.

Moreover, LEGO's collaboration with 2K Games resulted in the launch of LEGO 2K Drive last year, a racing game that further demonstrates the brand's adaptability and appeal in the gaming industry.
