Stardew Valley: Spice Berry Jelly Recipe

Author: Sarah Mar 13,2025

Stardew Valley offers a multitude of activities, from farming and mining to fishing. But did you know crafting preserves is another rewarding way to gather valuable goods? Let's explore how to make Spice Berry Jelly.

Unlocking the Preserves Jar in Stardew Valley

The Preserves Jar, crucial for making Jelly (among other preserves), is unlocked in two ways: complete the Quality Crops Bundle in the Community Center, or reach Farming level 4. This jar is your key to creating Pickles, Caviar, Aged Roe, and, of course, Jelly.

Jelly recipes use either cultivated or foraged fruit. In Summer, once you have the Preserves Jar, you can craft Spice Berry Jelly. Find Spice Berries in the Farm Cave (any season) or grow them in the Greenhouse using Summer Seeds.

To unlock the Preserves Jar via the Community Center, donate three "gold quality" crops (pumpkins, melons, corn, or parsnips). Five of each chosen crop are required, all with the gold quality star.

Making Spice Berry Jelly in Stardew Valley

Once you have your Preserves Jar, making Spice Berry Jelly is easy:

  1. Gather Spice Berries: Find them during Summer, in the Farm Cave, or grow them from Summer Seeds (made using a Seed Maker).
  2. Build a Preserves Jar (if needed): Requires 50 Wood, 40 Stone, and 8 Coal. The Quality Crops Bundle also rewards you with one.
  3. Create the Jelly: Place a Spice Berry in the Preserves Jar. It takes two to three in-game days (54 hours). Start the process before long periods of inactivity (sleeping, mining) to maximize efficiency. The Jar will pulse while the jelly is being made.
  4. Collect Your Jelly: Once ready, the Spice Berry Jelly icon appears above the Jar. Collect it! Enjoy your energy boost or sell it for 160 gold.

Making jelly adds another profitable dimension to your Stardew Valley farm, boosting your income and enriching your gameplay.
