New Look at GTA Lead Designer's Techno Spy Thriller, MindsEye

Leslie Benzies, the mastermind behind Rockstar's Grand Theft Auto 5 and Red Dead Redemption, unveils his latest creation, MindsEye, in a thrilling PlayStation State of Play reveal.

The new trailer showcases MindsEye as a cutting-edge spy thriller, echoing familiar Grand Theft Auto elements: third-person shooting, stunning cinematic sequences, and intense drive-by shootouts. Witness the action firsthand in the cinematic trailer below.

MindsEye follows Jacob Diaz, a protagonist burdened by a neural implant, the MindsEye, which fragments his memories, leaving him with jarring flashbacks of his military service. Driven by a quest to uncover his past, he confronts a formidable AI-powered military force determined to obstruct his path.

MindsEye, a project several years in the making, is the brainchild of Benzies' new studio, Build a Rocket Boy, in collaboration with IO Interactive, the creators of Hitman. Initially touted as a AAA action-adventure title, MindsEye will also integrate with the Everywhere platform, a project previously described as a "high-budget Roblox" following a 2024 studio visit.

While the new trailer omits mention of Everywhere, MindsEye itself promises an exhilarating action experience from a gaming legend. Expect MindsEye's release sometime in Summer 2025.
