Mackenyu Arata Voices Gennojo in Feudal Japan Setting
Mackenyu will provide both the English and Japanese voice acting for Gennojo, a key figure in Assassin's Creed Shadows' feudal Japan setting. Ubisoft describes Gennojo as a complex character, a charming rogue with a hidden depth.
"A charismatic, impulsive, and deeply conflicted individual, Gennojo is driven by guilt to dismantle a corrupt regime," states Ubisoft. "He's a flirtatious trickster, balancing wit, deception, and confidence. His strong sense of justice, particularly towards the vulnerable, fuels his willingness to risk everything to achieve his goals."
While the exact timing of Gennojo's appearance remains undisclosed, his significance to the game's storyline is confirmed. According to Mackenyu, Gennojo is a member of the "Shinobi League" and can essentially be recruited as a companion, aiding the player throughout their adventure.
