The FreeStyle Libre 2 system sends signals either to the FreeStyle Libre 2 scanner or your smartphone, but not to both simultaneously. To receive signals on your phone, you must launch the sensor through the FreeStyle LibreLink app. Conversely, to use the FreeStyle Libre 2 scanner, you must activate the sensor with the scanner itself. If you've launched the sensor using the scanner, you can still scan it with your phone. However, remember that the app and scanner do not communicate with each other. To ensure you have complete data for your reports, scan the sensor with the device you're using every 8 hours. You can also access and download data from all your devices at LibreView.com.

The FreeStyle LibreLink app is specifically designed to measure glucose levels in diabetic patients when used with a compatible sensor.
