Finn Jones Acknowledges Iron Fist Critiques, Determined to Prove Critics Wrong

Charlie Cox's successful transition from Netflix to the MCU as Daredevil has sparked speculation about the potential return of other Defenders characters. Finn Jones, who portrayed Danny Rand in the Netflix series Iron Fist and The Defenders, recently expressed his eagerness to reprise his role, stating, "I’m here and I’m ready." Jones last played the martial arts hero in 2018, teaming up with Daredevil (Charlie Cox), Luke Cage (Mike Colter), and Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter) in The Defenders.

Despite the mixed reception to Jones' portrayal of Iron Fist, the character's inclusion in future MCU projects remains uncertain. However, the integration of Daredevil into the MCU and reports of Marvel "exploring" the idea of reviving The Defenders have reignited fan interest.

During a recent appearance at LaConve, an anime convention in Monterrey, NL, Mexico, Jones addressed the criticisms of his performance. He acknowledged the fans' mixed feelings but remained hopeful, saying, "There is a willingness for the fans to see that happen. There’s a lot of willingness for the fans to see that not happen as well. I’m very aware of the critiques of the character and my role in it. My response to that is like, give me a f***ing chance, man. I’m here and I’m ready. I want to prove people wrong. So I would love to see that happen."

Daredevil: Born Again continues the story from the Netflix series, which was part of a smaller Marvel universe that also included Jessica Jones, Iron Fist, and Luke Cage. These series, along with the overarching Defenders narrative, are now officially part of the MCU canon, available on Disney+. Additionally, Jon Bernthal's Punisher, another character from the Netflix universe, is set to appear in Daredevil: Born Again.
