The Chess Engines application is designed to enhance your chess experience by integrating seamlessly with chess GUI applications on Android devices. This application does not come with its own graphical user interface and is meant to be used in conjunction with a compatible chess GUI that supports the OEX (Open Exchange) protocol. It serves as a comprehensive collection of powerful, open-source chess engines that can be easily incorporated into your preferred chess app.
The application includes native executables for top-tier chess engines, ensuring you have access to the latest in chess AI technology. Here are the engines included:
- Stockfish 17 - The latest iteration of the renowned Stockfish engine, known for its exceptional performance and continuous improvement. Learn more at Stockfish 17.
- Stockfish 16.1 - A robust update to the Stockfish series, offering enhanced analysis capabilities. Explore further at Stockfish 16.1.
- Clover 7.0 - A competitive chess engine that brings a unique approach to the game. Check it out on GitHub.
To make the most out of these chess engines, we recommend pairing them with the following chess GUIs:
- Analyze your Chess (free) - Available on the Google Play Store at Analyze your Chess.
- Analyze your Chess Pro (paid) - Upgrade your chess analysis experience with the pro version, found at Analyze your Chess Pro.
To integrate these engines with your chosen GUI, simply navigate to the Engine Management Screen, access the Overflow Menu, and select 'Install Open Exchange Engine'. From there, you can choose and install the chess engine(s) that suit your needs.
