According to an insider known as fraxiswinning, Ubisoft is set to unveil Rainbow Six Siege 2 at the Six Invitational 2025, scheduled to take place at the MGM Music Hall from February 14th to 16th. The project, reportedly codenamed Siege X, is said to operate on an enhanced engine featuring upgraded graphics, including revamped textures and models. Furthermore, Ubisoft may be moving away from the temporary events seen in the original game, focusing instead on introducing fresh events. The anticipated release date for this sequel is set for the second season of the tenth year of support, around mid-2025.
Previously, Rainbow Six Siege's creative director, Alexander Karpazis, mentioned that a full sequel might not be necessary given the continuous development of the current game. However, if the leak holds true, it appears Ubisoft may have reconsidered this stance. As with all rumors, it's important to approach this information with caution until Ubisoft provides an official announcement.
The Rainbow Six Siege World Championship, Six Invitational 2025, is fast approaching. In Boston, twenty teams will battle it out for a piece of the $3,000,000 prize pool and the coveted championship title. Oxygen Esports, having clinched the North American Last Chance Qualifier, are the last team to secure their spot.
The tournament format with twenty teams is unusual. While Ubisoft is likely to follow a similar structure to last year—comprising four groups with a round-robin between five teams, followed by Double Elimination playoffs—there could be a surprise in store. The first-place team in each group gets a bye in the first round, the fourth-place team starts in the lower bracket, the remaining teams enter the playoffs in the upper bracket, and the last team in each group is eliminated.
