Romancing SaGa Re:universe EOS Announcement from Square Enix

Romancing SaGa Re:universe's global server is closing on December 2nd, 2024. While this may or may not come as a surprise, the Japanese version will continue operation.

Two Months Remain

The game's shutdown is confirmed for December. In-app purchases of jewels and Google Play Points exchanges have already ceased following the September 29th, 2024 maintenance.

Launched globally in June 2020, the game's four-year run is concluding. Despite impressive visuals, sound design, and a generous gacha system, Romancing SaGa Re:universe received a mixed reception.

Unlike its popular Japanese counterpart, the global version experienced fluctuating player engagement. The omission of significant content updates, such as Solistia and 6-star unit upgrades (available in Japan for nearly a year), contributed to player dissatisfaction and ultimately impacted the game's longevity.

Community Feedback

Square Enix, the developer, has already closed several titles this year, including Final Fantasy: Brave Exvius and two Dragon Quest mobile games, adding to the closure of Romancing SaGa Re:universe's global service.

This turn-based RPG, based on the classic SaGa series, offers players two more months of gameplay. Whether you're a veteran or a newcomer, there's still time to experience Romancing SaGa Re:universe, available on the Google Play Store.
