"Project 007: James Bond Origin Game Hits Nintendo Switch 2"

GoldenEye fans, it's time to rally — IO Interactive has announced that their highly anticipated James Bond game, Project 007, will be coming to the Nintendo Switch 2. As detailed on IO Interactive's website, this game promises an entirely new narrative within the Bond universe.

"Players will step into the shoes of the world's favorite Secret Agent to earn their 00 status in the very first James Bond origin story," the developers stated, setting the stage for what players can expect from the game's storyline.

In an interview with IGN back in October, IO Interactive's head, Hakan Abrak, shared his enthusiasm about crafting a fresh origin story for the iconic spy. "What's exciting about that project is that we actually got to do an original story. So it's not a gamification of a movie," he explained. Abrak emphasized the game's potential to evolve into a significant trilogy, saying, "It's completely beginning and becoming a story, hopefully for a big trilogy out there in the future. And equally important and exciting, it's a new Bond. It's a Bond we built from the ground up for gamers. It's extremely exciting with all the tradition and all the history there is there together to work on this together with the family of creating a young Bond for gamers; a Bond that the gamers can call their own and grow with."
