How to Use the Haunted Mirror in Phasmophobia

Haunted Mirror in Phasmophobia

The Haunted Mirror is often considered the safest Cursed Object in *Phasmophobia* due to its high reward-to-risk ratio. Its utility has remained consistent across the game’s updates, making it a valuable asset during your ghost-hunting expeditions. When you encounter the Haunted Mirror, using it can significantly enhance your investigation.

The Haunted Mirror provides a panoramic view of the ghost’s current favorite room or area on the map. For those familiar with the layout, this feature can drastically speed up the process of locating the ghost, allowing you to set up your equipment before the situation escalates.

You can find the Haunted Mirror hanging on a wall or lying on the floor at its designated spot, such as in 6 Tanglewood Drive. Cursed Objects have fixed spawn locations, though which one appears is randomized.

To utilize the Haunted Mirror, simply pick it up and use the appropriate button (mouse or controller) to interact with it and hold it up. The reflection will show you the ghost’s current favorite room. Be mindful that on Professional difficulty or higher, the ghost may move to a different area over time.

However, be cautious not to gaze into the mirror for too long. Prolonged exposure drains your sanity, and if you hold it up until the end, the mirror will shatter, triggering a Cursed Hunt at your location. Use it wisely when your sanity is high and quickly interpret what you see in the reflection.

Cursed Possessions, often referred to as “Cursed Objects,” are unique items in *Phasmophobia* that appear randomly across various maps, influenced by difficulty settings or Challenge Mode. Unlike regular equipment, which helps locate ghosts with minimal risk, Cursed Objects offer shortcuts to manipulate ghost behavior but come with significant risks.

The safety of using these objects varies depending on their abilities. It’s a decision for you and your team to weigh the potential benefits against the dangers. Notably, there’s no penalty for choosing not to use them. Each contract features only one Cursed Possession, unless modified in Custom settings.

There are seven different Cursed Objects available in the game:

  • Summoning Circle
  • Haunted Mirror
  • Voodoo Doll
  • Music Box
  • Tarot Cards
  • Ouija Board
  • Monkey Paw
