Naruto X Boruto Ninja Voltage Ceases Global Service

Bandai Namco's fortress strategy RPG, Naruto X Boruto Ninja Voltage, is officially shutting down on December 9th, 2024, marking the end of a nearly seven-year run. This isn't entirely unexpected, mirroring the fate of other Naruto gacha games like Naruto Blazing, which also succumbed to issues like power creep and unbalanced PvP.

The Final Countdown:

Launched in 2017, the game will continue to operate until its December 9th closure. Players can still enjoy several upcoming events:

  • Village Leader World Championship: October 8th - 18th
  • All-Out Mission: October 18th - November 1st
  • 'Thanks For Everything' Campaign: November 1st - December 1st

During this period, players can collect Ninja Cards, participate in summoning events, and utilize in-game items. It's advisable to spend any remaining Gold Coins before the shutdown.

What Led to the Closure?

While initially praised for its balanced gameplay, featuring village building, trap setting, and character-based defense, Naruto X Boruto Ninja Voltage eventually suffered from a decline. The introduction of Minato Namikaze marked a shift towards power creep, alienating many players. This was exacerbated by increasingly prominent pay-to-win mechanics, reduced free-to-play rewards, and a dwindling multiplayer experience. These factors ultimately contributed to the game's decline and eventual closure. The game remains available on the Google Play Store for those who wish to try it before the shutdown.
