Elon Musk's alleged cheating in Diablo 4 and Path of Exile 2 has sparked controversy, with fans questioning the integrity of the games and the developers' response. Screenshots of a private conversation reveal Musk admitted to paying for account boosting, a violation of both games' terms of service.

Account boosting, where a player pays another to level up their account, is a form of cheating widely prohibited in online games. Blizzard's EULA explicitly forbids this practice. Following Musk's admission, both Blizzard and Grinding Gear Games (developers of Diablo 4 and Path of Exile 2 respectively) have refused to comment on whether they will ban Musk's accounts.

This silence has fueled outrage among players. Forum posts express disappointment at the lack of action against a high-profile individual, fearing it sets a dangerous precedent. Concerns about the fairness of the games and the effectiveness of real-money trading (RMT) enforcement are prevalent.

Musk's previous boasts about his gaming skill, including a claim of being a top 20 Diablo 4 player, have been called into question. His gameplay has been criticized as lacking basic understanding of game mechanics, further fueling suspicions of account boosting.

A video surfaced showing a direct message exchange where Musk confirmed using account boosting, claiming it was necessary to compete with Asian players. He later clarified that while his streamed gameplay was authentic, his high-level character achievements were not solely his own.

Musk's ex-partner, Grimes, offered a defense, citing personal observations of his gaming skill in other titles. However, further allegations emerged suggesting his Path of Exile 2 character was active while Musk was attending an event in Washington, D.C. The situation remains unresolved, leaving the gaming community debating the implications of Musk's actions and the developers' response.
