Napoleon Bonaparte, a beloved figure in the *Civilization* series, is set to make a grand return in *Civilization 7* (*Civ 7*). However, unlocking him as a leader involves a few specific steps that you need to follow. Whether you're interested in his Emperor or Revolutionary Persona, here's how you can add Napoleon to your roster.
How to Get Napoleon, Emperor
Unlocking the Emperor Persona for Napoleon in *Civilization 7* is straightforward, requiring you to create a 2K Account. Here are the steps you need to follow:
- Visit portal.2k.com. Log in if you already have an account, or sign up for a new one.
- Link your 2K Account to the gaming platform you're using by navigating to Connections -> Account Overview.
That's it! Once these steps are completed, you'll have access to Napoleon's Emperor Persona in *Civ 7*. This leader excels in commerce and military might, featuring a unique ability called "Empereur des Francais." This ability grants a Unique Sanction known as the Continental System, which reduces the Trade Route limit of the targeted Leader to all other Leaders by 1, imposes a massive Relationship penalty, and costs more to reject. Additionally, you gain +8 Gold per Age for every Leader you are Unfriendly or Hostile with, and you can reject Endeavors for free.
The Emperor Persona of Napoleon also follows an agenda called the Napoleonic Code, which improves his relationship with the player who has the smallest standing army and worsens it with the player who has the largest standing navy.
How to Get Napoleon, Revolutionary
If the Emperor Persona doesn't suit your gameplay style, you can unlock Napoleon's Revolutionary Persona. To do this, you must have previously played *Civilization 6*. Follow these steps:
- Link your 2K Account to your game as described above, ensuring that both *Civ 6* and *Civ 7* are linked.
- Once you boot up *Civ 7*, the Revolutionary Persona of Napoleon will be available to you.
Note that playing *Civ 6* on the same platform as *Civ 7* is not necessary for this to work.
The Revolutionary Persona of Napoleon focuses on cultural and militaristic strategies, with an ability called "La Grande Armee." This ability grants +1 Movement to all Land Units and provides Culture equal to 50% of an enemy Unit's Combat Strength when defeated.
Napoleon's Revolutionary Persona follows an agenda called "Culture from Conquest," which means he dislikes leaders with many alliances but gains a relationship bonus with the player who has the highest Culture Per Turn.
With these steps, you can now add Napoleon to your *Civilization 7* campaign, whether as the Emperor or the Revolutionary leader, and leverage his unique abilities to dominate the game.
