On January 30th, 2025, FromSoftware announced via Twitter (X) that confirmation emails had been sent to those who registered for the Elden Ring Nightreign network test. Excited fans quickly shared their confirmations online.
Selected participants will receive a follow-up email on February 11th, 2025, containing a unique code to download the test client for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.

Elden Ring Nightreign Network Test: A Closer Look
FromSoftware describes the network test as a crucial "preliminary verification test" involving selected players experiencing a portion of the game before its official launch. The primary goal is to conduct "large-scale network load tests" to assess server capacity and stability under heavy player load.
The test runs from February 14th to 16th, 2025, offering five 3-hour sessions:
- Session 1: February 14th, 3 AM – 6 AM PT
- Session 2: February 14th, 7 PM – 10 PM PT
- Session 3: February 15th, 11 AM – 2 PM PT
- Session 4: February 16th, 3 AM – 6 AM PT
- Session 5: February 16th, 7 PM – 10 PM PT
Beware: Scammers and Scalpers Exploit the Hype
Reports of a Steam-based scam are circulating. Malicious invites, mimicking official Elden Ring Nightreign Network Test invitations, redirect users to phishing sites, potentially compromising accounts and spreading the scam via mass messaging to friend lists. FromSoftware emphasizes that official communication only occurs through their website and social media channels.
Adding to the concern, scalpers are already attempting to capitalize on the limited access. Despite codes not being released until February 11th, listings for "confirmed test codes" are appearing on various online marketplaces, demanding exorbitant prices ranging from $150 to $200, with some even auctioned off.
Elden Ring Nightreign, initially unveiled at the Game Awards 2024, is slated for release in 2025 on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. A precise release date remains unannounced.
