Blizzard's handling of the Overwatch 2 Cyber DJ skin has ignited another controversy. Initially priced at $19.99, the skin was later revealed to be a free reward for watching a Twitch stream. This sparked outrage among players who had already purchased it.

The Cyber DJ skin, initially available for purchase, was unexpectedly offered for free to Twitch viewers who watched a one-hour broadcast on February 12th. This promotional giveaway followed Blizzard's announcement of a future-focused Overwatch 2 event.

This isn't the first time Blizzard has faced backlash for selling cosmetic items and then offering them for free. Players are demanding refunds, citing unfair practices. While the skin has been removed from the in-game store, Blizzard hasn't addressed refund requests.

Facing stiff competition, particularly from Marvel Rivals, Blizzard is aiming to revitalize Overwatch 2. A special Overwatch 2 Spotlight event on February 12th promises revolutionary gameplay changes, new maps, heroes, and other content reveals. The event will also feature prominent streamers showcasing the upcoming updates.
