How to Beat Chatacabra in Monster Hunter Wilds

The Chatacabra, a formidable frog-like monster, primarily relies on close-range attacks, using its tongue as a weapon. It can also charge at you if you keep your distance. As one of the easier monsters to fight, any weapon can be effective, though smaller weapons like the Bow and Charge Blade might be less efficient due to the Chatacabra's size.

Most of its attacks are centered around its tongue, making the front of the monster the most dangerous area. Besides its tongue lick, it uses its front limbs to slam the ground, always preceded by rearing up. The only notable attack from behind is a sweeping tongue move when it raises its head to the sky.

To defeat the Chatacabra efficiently, position yourself near its sides. Dodge or block when it rears up for a slam attack. Utilizing its weaknesses to Ice and Thunder will expedite the battle, allowing you to claim your victory and perhaps a new frog skin hat swiftly.

How to Capture Chatacabra in Monster Hunter Wilds

Capturing the Chatacabra follows the standard procedure in *Monster Hunter Wilds*, made easier by its inability to fly. Equip yourself with a Shock Trap or a Pitfall Trap and at least two Tranq Bombs. It's wise to carry one of each trap and up to eight Tranq Bombs to account for any mishaps.

Engage the Chatacabra in combat until its icon on the mini-map shows a small skull, indicating it's weakened and attempting to retreat to a new area for the last time.
