Alienware Aurora R16 RTX 5080 Gaming PC Launched at $2,399

Author: Skylar Apr 01,2025

Starting today, Dell is offering an incredible deal on the Alienware Aurora R16 gaming PC, now equipped with the new GeForce RTX 5080 GPU for just $2,399.99 shipped. This is a standout offer, especially given the rising prices of RTX 50 series prebuilts since their launch in January. At Dell, the only other prebuilt option featuring an RTX 5080 GPU is priced over $4,000, making this deal exceptionally attractive. For those considering building their own PC, finding a standalone RTX 5080 GPU is nearly impossible, and it might cost you as much as this entire system.

This Alienware Aurora R16 gaming PC comes loaded with an Intel Core Ultra 7 265F CPU, a GeForce RTX 5080 GPU, 16GB of DDR5-5200MHz RAM, and a 1TB NVMe SSD. The current-gen Intel Core Ultra 7 265F Meteor Lake CPU boasts a max turbo frequency of 5.3GHz with 20 cores and a 30MB cache. It's kept cool by a robust 240mm all-in-one liquid cooler, and the entire system is powered by a generously equipped 1,000W 80PLUS Platinum power supply.

The RTX 5080 is one of three new Blackwell graphics cards that have hit the market, yet they're incredibly hard to find. In our Nvidia GeForce RTX 5080 FE review, Jackie notes, "If you already have a high-end graphics card from the last couple of years, the Nvidia GeForce RTX 5080 might not be the upgrade you're looking for – it doesn't offer a significant performance leap over the RTX 4080, though the enhanced frames from DLSS 4 Multi-Frame Generation do improve visuals in compatible games. However, if you're gaming on an older card and seeking a substantial performance boost, the RTX 5080 is an excellent choice, particularly if you're keen on Nvidia's AI enhancements."

New for 2025: The Alienware Area-51 Chassis

Dell unveiled the new Alienware Area-51 gaming PC at CES 2025. The chassis design is similar to the 2024 R16 system but includes minor aesthetic and cooling redesigns along with updated components. The I/O panel has been moved to the top of the case, and the tempered glass window now covers the entire side panel, eliminating the need for side panel vents. Air intakes are now at the bottom and front of the case, promoting a positive airflow design for a cleaner interior. The internal components have been refreshed with a new motherboard, faster RAM, and a more powerful power supply to support the latest generation of CPUs and RTX 50 series GPUs.

RTX 5080 and 5090 GPUs Are Sold Out Everywhere

The initial release of Nvidia GeForce RTX 50-series graphics cards sold out within the first hour of preorders. The lineup started with the highest-end models, the RTX 5090 and RTX 5080, followed by the RTX 5070 Ti in February. Similarly, prebuilt gaming PCs equipped with these GPUs are either out of stock, have increased in price, or face extended delivery delays.
