Tarneeb is a card game for two teams, each comprising players seated opposite each other around a table. Using a standard 52-card deck, play proceeds counter-clockwise. Each player estimates the number of "Allmat" (tricks) their team can win in each round. The player who wins the bid to declare "Tarneeb" throws a type of paper onto the floor; other players must throw the same type to match. The first to successfully match the paper type wins the trick. If a player doesn't possess the matching paper type, they forfeit the "Tarneeb" option. "Tarneeb" papers outrank all other paper types; the player who throws the highest-ranking "Tarneeb" paper wins, unless a stronger "Tarneeb" paper is played.
The round ends when all players have played their cards. Points are tallied. A team only scores points if they successfully meet or exceed their bid for "Allmat" tricks. If successful, they add their total "Allmat" to their score; the opposing team receives no points. If unsuccessful, their points are deducted, and the opposing team adds their "Allmat" total to their score.
If either team achieves 13 tricks without bidding for 13, they receive 16 points. If a team bids for and achieves 13 tricks, they receive 26 points. If a team bids for 13 tricks but fails to win them, 16 points are deducted from their score.
The game concludes when a team reaches a total score of 41 or more points; that team is declared the winner.
