Сheaters in Black Ops 6 kick players, Activision made false claims about fixing the issue

A video showcasing a tool allowing hackers to remove players from Black Ops 6 matches emerged online in late January. Activision responded, stating the footage was from the Black Ops 6 multiplayer beta and that the vulnerability was patched before the game's November release. They emphasized that this video doesn't reflect the current game state and that they investigate all such reports.

However, players dispute Activision's claim, citing recent videos demonstrating the tool's continued use. One such video shows the program functioning during a match on the Nuketown map, added to Black Ops 6 a week post-launch.

Despite this controversy, Black Ops 6 achieved top-selling game status in the US last year, according to Circana analysts. This continues a remarkable sixteen-year streak for the Call of Duty franchise as the leading game in the US market. Meanwhile, EA Sports College Football 25, released in July, claimed the title of most played sports game in the United States.

US gamer spending saw a slight 1.1% year-over-year decrease in 2024, but Circana attributes this to reduced hardware demand, contrasting with a 2% increase in add-on spending and a 6% rise in service spending. Black Ops 6 and Warzone 2 are set to launch their second season on January 28th, featuring a ninja theme and a crossover with the "Terminator" universe.
