Wukong Sun will make its way to Nintendo Switch in a few days

The gaming industry often sees projects attempting to capitalize on the success of popular titles. However, Wukong Sun: Black Legend isn't merely inspired by established games; it's accused of directly copying elements. Its visual style, the protagonist wielding a staff, and even the plot description bear a striking resemblance to Game Science's hit game.

Currently available for pre-order on the US eShop, the game's future remains uncertain. Given the apparent plagiarism, Game Science could pursue a copyright infringement lawsuit, potentially leading to the game's removal from the platform.

Wukong Sun: Black Legend's description reads: “Embark on an epic journey to the West. Play as the immortal Wukong, the legendary Monkey King, fighting for order in a chaotic world teeming with powerful monsters and deadly dangers. Explore a story inspired by Chinese mythology, featuring intense battles, breathtaking locations, and legendary enemies.”

In contrast, Black Myth: Wukong is an epic adventure rooted in Chinese mythology. The unexpected popularity of this RPG from a small Chinese studio, even crashing Steam charts, is remarkable. Black Myth: Wukong boasts incredible detail, engaging gameplay, and challenging yet accessible combat. While incorporating elements of the Souls-like genre, its difficulty curve is surprisingly welcoming to newcomers.

The combat system and progression are thoughtfully designed, avoiding the need for extensive guides while still encouraging strategic thinking. Visually, the battles are stunning, showcasing fluid animations. The game's greatest strengths lie in its setting and visual design; it's a captivating fairy tale, immersing players with its stunning character designs and world beauty. Many gamers believe Black Myth: Wukong deserved a "Game of the Year 2024" nomination at The Game Awards.
