Weekly Challenges: New Mode in The Battle of Polytopia

The Battle of Polytopia has just spiced up its gameplay with the introduction of Weekly Challenges, offering a fresh and exciting way to test your strategic prowess in this beloved 4X strategy game. Let's dive into what this new feature brings to the table.

It Was Random Before

Previously, the game's randomness, with its diverse enemies, resources, and maps, kept players on their toes. However, the latest free update introduces a more structured competitive environment.

Each week, players are presented with the same map, tribe, and gameplay conditions. The challenge? Achieve the highest possible score within 20 turns. You get one attempt per day, allowing for a maximum of seven tries per week. This new feature also allows you to play as tribes you might not yet own. The Battle of Polytopia boasts 16 tribes in total—four come with the base game, while the other twelve can be purchased for $1-4 each. In Weekly Challenges, everyone competes with the same tribe, regardless of ownership.

Will Weekly Challenges Make The Battle of Polytopia More Exciting?

Absolutely, and here's why. The new mode introduces a League system where everyone starts in the Entry League. Your performance each week determines whether you move up or down. The top third of players advance, the bottom third drop, and the middle group remains in place.

As you progress through the leagues, the difficulty ramps up. In the Entry League, you'll face AI on Easy mode, but by the time you reach the Gold League, you're up against Crazy difficulty bots. If you miss a week, you won't be demoted, but your ranking will adjust based on the performance of others.
