Shift Up, developer of the popular action RPG Stellar Blade, has unveiled its roadmap for upcoming updates and future plans. The game, a significant release this year, has garnered a large and enthusiastic fanbase eager for more content. While Shift Up has been addressing performance issues and improving quality of life, they've now provided a clearer timeline for upcoming features.
According to a presentation by Shift Up CFO Ahn Jae-woo, players can expect a Photo Mode around August, new skins sometime after October, and a major collaboration project by the end of 2024. Industry speculation points towards a potential collaboration with the Nier series, given the positive relationship between the directors of both franchises and Stellar Blade's clear Nier: Automata influences.
Stellar Blade Update Roadmap:
- Photo Mode: Approximately August
- New Skins: Available after October
- Major Collaboration: End of 2024
- Sequel Confirmed: Paid DLC under consideration
Ahn Jae-woo also confirmed ongoing preparations for the PC release of Stellar Blade, expressing confidence in the game's sales performance (estimated to exceed one million copies). He drew parallels to successful titles like Ghost of Tsushima and Detroit: Become Human, highlighting the impressive sales figures for a new IP.
While a sequel is confirmed, details remain scarce. Shift Up is currently focused on delivering the outlined updates and the PC release, suggesting that further information regarding DLC and the sequel will be revealed at a later date. However, the positive reception and strong sales figures suggest a bright future for Stellar Blade.
