Ubisoft has officially announced that Star Wars: Outlaws will be coming to the Nintendo Switch 2, though it won't be available at the console's launch on June 5. Instead, fans will have to wait until September 4 to dive into this space adventure on the new Nintendo handheld.

Set between the iconic films The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, Star Wars: Outlaws follows the story of Kay Vess, a small-time criminal who becomes the target of a cartel's death mark. While the game has already been released on PS5, Xbox, and PC, our reviewer rated it a 7, describing it as "a fun intergalactic heist adventure with great exploration, but hindered by simple stealth, repetitive combat, and a few too many bugs at launch."

Ubisoft provided limited details during the announcement but confirmed the game's release date on the Nintendo Switch 2. This update is a welcome addition to the Switch 2 Games List, especially for American and Canadian gamers who are currently navigating pre-order uncertainties due to new tariffs from the Republican administration.

The announcement was made at Star Wars Celebration in Japan, where Ubisoft also unveiled details about the second story pack for Star Wars: Outlaws, titled A Pirate’s Fortune. In this expansion, Kay Vess teams up with Hondo Ohnaka to confront Stinger Tash, the leader of the Rokana Raiders. Star Wars: Outlaws: A Pirate’s Fortune is set to release on May 15, adding more excitement for fans eagerly awaiting the next chapter in Kay's adventures.
