The boys are back in town — and by the boys, we mean the iconic quartet of Stan, Kyle, Kenny, and Cartman. South Park has officially announced the eagerly awaited Season 27, and it appears our favorite Colorado crew is tackling the current state of affairs, albeit in their uniquely nonchalant way.
The beloved animated series teased fans with a new trailer for the upcoming season, masterfully tricking viewers into believing they were getting a sneak peek at a dramatic new series. With intense editing and suspenseful music, the trailer initially set an ominous tone... only for it to be hilariously shattered by the appearance of Stan's dad, Randy, and his sister Shelley. In a classic South Park twist, Randy asks Shelley if she's been taking drugs, suggesting, "Because I think it could really help you," as they sit on her bed with a Wicked movie poster in the background.

The trailer quickly shifts back to its intense visuals, hinting at several significant and timely events expected in the season, including multiple plane crashes, the toppling of the Statue of Liberty, a cameo from P. Diddy, and yet another conflict with Canada. This last plot point won't surprise long-time fans, especially those familiar with the 1999 film South Park: Bigger, Longer, and Uncut.
The teaser also confirmed that Season 27 will premiere on July 9, 2025, on Comedy Central, marking over two years since the conclusion of Season 26. In the interim, the series has kept fans entertained with three specials: 2023's South Park: Joining the Panderverse and South Park (Not Suitable For Children), followed by 2024's South Park: The End of Obesity.
South Park celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2022, having debuted on Comedy Central to near-instant acclaim back in 1997. This long-running series continues to captivate audiences with its sharp wit and timely social commentary.
