Riot Games still wants its MMO, but it is not even close to the finish

Riot Games made a notable appearance at this year's DICE Summit, where company co-founder Marc Merrill shared insights into his vision for the future. In a post-event discussion with Stephen Totilo, Merrill expressed his enthusiasm for developing an MMO set within the expansive universe of League of Legends and Arcane. This project, which consumes much of his time, reflects his passion for the MMO genre and his belief that this dedication will contribute significantly to its success. Additionally, Merrill recognizes the strong desire among League of Legends fans to dive deeper into their beloved universe, which he sees as another critical factor for the game's potential triumph.

While specific details about the MMO, including a release date, remain under wraps, Merrill humorously remarked that he hopes the game will launch before humanity sets foot on Mars. This light-hearted comment leaves fans eagerly anticipating further updates on the project's progress.

In addition to the MMO, Riot Games is also developing another game within the League of Legends universe: 2XKO, a much-anticipated fighting game. Unlike the MMO, 2XKO has already been showcased with trailers and is slated for release before the year's end, much to the excitement of fans who have been eagerly awaiting this title for years.
