Best Redwing Decks in Marvel Snap

Marvel Snap's avian additions are few and far between—Cosmo, Groose, Zabu, Hit Monkey, and now, Redwing. This feathered friend, accompanying the Brave New World season, adds a unique dynamic to the game.

Redwing's Mechanics in Marvel Snap

Redwing is a 3-cost, 4-power card with a one-time activation ability: The first time it moves, it adds a card from your hand to its original location.

This ability has limitations. It's a single-use effect, unaffected by cards like Symbiote Spider-Man or repeated plays. Precise card targeting is also challenging. Move decks often contain low-power cards (like Iron Fist) you'd rather not relocate, while Scream decks primarily manipulate opponent's cards.

Despite these limitations, inexpensive move cards like Madame Web or Cloak (accessible to lower Collection Level players) can effectively utilize Redwing. The potential for strategic plays, such as deploying a Galactus early or summoning a powerful card like The Infinaut, makes Redwing a wildcard.

Optimal Redwing Deck Compositions

Ares and Surtur-centric decks, popular in previous seasons, have adapted to incorporate Redwing, although Surtur's priority on turn 3 often overshadows Redwing's use. A sample high-cost deck includes:

  • Hydra Bob
  • Scream
  • Kraven
  • Captain America
  • Redwing
  • Polaris
  • Surtur
  • Ares
  • Cull Obsidian
  • Aero
  • Heimdall
  • Magneto

This deck relies on turn 3 Surtur deployment, followed by high-power cards to boost Surtur's strength. Scream provides an alternative win condition by power stealing. Polaris, Aero, and Magneto offer card manipulation, and Redwing can be moved to Heimdall to enhance Surtur and draw a powerful card. Note the high cost, featuring several Series 5 cards.

A second deck incorporating Redwing utilizes Madame Web, given the nerf to Dagger and the lack of other competitive move decks:

  • Ant-Man
  • Madame Web
  • Psylocke
  • Sam Wilson
  • Captain America
  • Luke Cage
  • Captain America
  • Redwing
  • Doom 2099
  • Iron Lad
  • Blue Marvel
  • Doctor Doom
  • Spectrum

This deck focuses on Doom 2099, aiming for rapid power distribution. Madame Web assists in location management and provides an additional method for moving Sam Wilson's shield. Redwing's activation is limited to Madame Web's ability.

Is Redwing Worth Investing In?

Currently, no. Redwing's power level is low, and its archetype is underpowered. Saving resources for future cards is recommended unless significant buffs are implemented.
