Get ready for an exhilarating year in Hearthstone as the Year of the Raptor in 2025 is set to bring a flurry of surprises, innovative gameplay, and exciting new features. Brace yourself for the usual triple threat of expansions, Mini-Sets, and Battlegrounds seasons, all lined up to roll out soon. The Heroes of StarCraft Mini-Set has already received a fantastic reception, and Blizzard is clearly excited to keep the momentum going all year long. They’ve even unveiled a roadmap that gives us a tantalizing glimpse into what's on the horizon for the game.
What Does the Year of the Raptor Bring to Hearthstone?
One of the most anticipated updates is the revamped Arena mode, which has been in development since last year and is now poised for launch. Arena, a staple since Hearthstone's inception, is set to attract a new wave of players with this fresh update.
Cosmetics are also getting a significant upgrade. Look out for new Mythic skins, Signature cards, and the introduction of Pets. These adorable companions will be part of a novel system for acquiring cosmetics, though Blizzard is keeping the specifics under wraps for now.
The Year of the Raptor officially kicks off with the first expansion of the year, "Into the Emerald Dream." Card reveals are slated to start next week, and there’s already an in-game celebration underway. By completing the Event Track, you can earn rewards such as The Great Dark Beyond Epic cards, packs from the new expansion, and a Raptor Herald card.
What Else Is Coming?
Alongside the expansion, a new evolving game board will be introduced. The Year of the Raptor board will remain a fixture in Hearthstone throughout the year, receiving visual and audio updates with each new expansion.
The Core Set is also in for a refresh. Some classic cards are making a return, albeit with some modifications, and new cards are being added to the mix. With so much exciting content on the way, it might be the perfect time to dive back into the game. If you haven't already, you can grab Hearthstone from the Google Play Store.
