Following months of speculation and leaks, Pokémon Champions, a new multiplayer Pokémon battle game, has been officially unveiled. Developed collaboratively by Game Freak and The Pokémon Works (a joint venture between The Pokémon Company and ILCA, the studio behind Pokémon Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl), this title focuses on core-style Pokémon battles.

The trailer showcased both Mega Evolution and Terastallization mechanics, hinting at a broad range of Pokémon and battle styles across various generations.

PlayCrucially, Pokémon Champions will integrate with Pokémon Home, enabling players to transfer Pokémon from previous games, finally providing a purpose for those countless Pokémon residing in players' boxes.

Currently in development for Nintendo Switch and mobile devices, a release date remains unannounced. The game will support Latin American Spanish at launch, in addition to other languages commonly featured in Pokémon titles.

It's highly likely that Pokémon Champions is the same game previously leaked last year as "Pokémon Synapse," part of the extensive "Freak Leak." While initial speculation compared it to Splatoon, the official reveal clarifies its core focus on competitive multiplayer battles.
