Overwatch 2 Unveils Exclusive Events for Chinese Market

Overwatch 2's triumphant return to China on February 19th brings a wealth of rewards and exciting events for players. This relaunch includes opportunities to earn Battle Pass rewards from Seasons 1 through 9, participate in popular in-game events, and experience the game's content that was previously unavailable.

The highly anticipated return, following a technical test in early January, promises a multi-week celebration. Chinese players will be able to acquire Battle Pass rewards from Seasons 1 and 2 before the official launch, and subsequently unlock rewards from Seasons 3 through 9 via in-game events.

Season 15: A Chinese Mythology-Inspired Celebration?

Game director Aaron Keller's announcement on Xiaohongshu hints at Season 15 featuring skin bundles inspired by Chinese mythology. While details remain scarce, the potential for new or existing skins, their exclusivity to China, and a broader thematic integration into Season 15 remain exciting possibilities. Further details are expected in early February, shortly before the season's February 18th launch.

Pre-Season 15 Festivities

Before the main event, players globally can enjoy the "Min 1, Max 3" 6v6 test (January 21st - February 4th), featuring the classic 2-2-2 team composition. The Lunar New Year and Moth Meta Overwatch: Classic events are also planned before Season 15. Although Chinese players missed these previous events, they can anticipate unique celebrations tailored to their return.
