Netflix is set to launch a movie tie-in game for their upcoming sci-fi adventure, The Electric State. This puzzle game, titled The Electric State: Kid Cosmo, will be released on March 18th, just four days after the film premieres on Netflix. Directed by the Russo brothers, the film stars Millie Bobby Brown and Chris Pratt, and is set to release on March 14th. The story follows a post-apocalyptic road trip across an alternate '90s America, filled with massive robots.
It’s Not Going to be a Simple Adaptation of the Movie
The Electric State: Kid Cosmo serves as a prequel to the movie's narrative, delving into the childhood of two pivotal characters, Chris and Michelle, through an engaging game-within-a-game experience. Developed by BUCK Games in collaboration with AGBO, the creators of the acclaimed roguelite puzzle game Let’s! Revolution! on Steam, this game promises robust gameplay.
Kid Cosmo will immerse players in a series of puzzle adventures reminiscent of the WarioWare series, yet infused with a distinctive '80s aesthetic. Set in Wichita, Kansas, in 1985, the game spans five years, offering a deeper understanding of Chris and Michelle's journey before the movie's timeline. Players will collect modules, repair Kid Cosmo's ship, and solve puzzles to uncover the secrets of this enigmatic world. For a sneak peek, check out the official trailer below.
