LEGO Unveils Massive 3-Foot Jurassic Park T-Rex Skeleton Set

Author: Aaliyah Apr 18,2025

LEGO enthusiasts and Jurassic World fans, get ready for an awe-inspiring addition to your collection! LEGO has just unveiled its largest Jurassic World set to date: the Dinosaur Fossils: Tyrannosaurus Rex skeleton. This stunning model stretches over three feet in length, making it a centerpiece worthy of any display.

Included in this set are minifigures of Dr. Ellie Sattler and Dr. Alan Grant, iconic characters from the original Jurassic Park film, where this very skeleton is famously displayed in the visitor center. Priced at $249.99, the set will be available for purchase at the LEGO Store starting March 12 for LEGO Insiders (sign up for free here) and March 15 for all other customers.

LEGO Jurassic World Dinosaur Fossils: Tyrannosaurus Rex

Release Date: March 15 (March 12 for Insiders)
Price: $249.99
Pieces: 3,145
Ages: 18+
Dimensions: L: 105cm (41.3in) / H: 33cm (12.9in)

Designed for the adult builder, this set contains 3,145 pieces and is tailored for display rather than play. It may feature advanced building techniques, which could challenge younger builders. The scale of this model is truly impressive; the included minifigures of Dr. Grant and Dr. Sattler give a sense of the size, but at over three feet long, this set is a significant undertaking.

The T-rex skeleton's skull is reminiscent of the already available LEGO T-rex skull, which my son built and found to be visually striking. However, the full skeleton adds an entirely new dimension to the set, enhancing its impact.

This T-rex skeleton comes with articulated joints, allowing for various posing options. The head can move, the jaw opens, and the arms and tail can be adjusted to your liking. As with many LEGO sets inspired by movies, this one includes several hidden Easter eggs that builders will uncover during assembly. Additionally, it comes with a display stand and an informational plaque detailing the T-rex's diet, habitat, and other fascinating facts.

While LEGO's Jurassic World collection may not be as extensive as its Star Wars or Harry Potter lines, it is rapidly expanding. As an avid LEGO fan, I'm excited to see more sets aimed at adults, like this impressive T-rex skeleton, included in future releases.
