Hideaki Nishino will become the sole CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE), effective April 1, 2025. This announcement, part of a recent press release, also reveals that Sony CFO Hiroki Totoki will be promoted to President and CEO of Sony Corporation, replacing Kenichiro Yoshida. Lin Tao, SVP of Finance, Corporate Development and Strategy, will assume the role of CFO.
Last year, SIE leadership was split between Nishino and Hermen Hulst following Jim Ryan's retirement. Hulst led PlayStation Studios, while Nishino oversaw hardware and technology. This new structure places Nishino at the helm of all SIE operations, including the platform business group, with Hulst remaining as head of PlayStation Studios.
Nishino, a Sony employee since 2000, previously served as SVP of the Platform Experience Group. In a statement, he expressed his honor at assuming the CEO role, emphasizing SIE's commitment to technological innovation and creative experiences, and thanked Hermen Hulst for his contributions. He also expressed gratitude to the PlayStation community for their continued support.
