Elden Ring Nightreign, a standalone cooperative spin-off from FromSoftware, launches May 30, 2025, priced at $40 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC via Steam. Set in a parallel universe to the original Elden Ring, Nightreign allows three players to collaborate as Nightfarers, battling new threats and navigating a dynamic map featuring a three-day-and-night cycle that alters gameplay. The core loop involves facing powerful bosses each night, with ultimate victory against the Nightlord culminating the experience. Defeat isn't final; unsuccessful runs yield relics for character customization and upgrades.
The official description highlights the game's unique session-based structure, promising ever-changing environments, enemies, and rewards. Each playthrough offers a distinct experience, resembling an open-air dungeon crawl. Players can level up at Sites of Grace, accumulating lasting stat bonuses with each successful run.
IGN's hands-on preview described Elden Ring Nightreign as a "propulsive, slash ‘n’ dash speedrun" version of Elden Ring's cautious dungeon exploration.
