Funcom has just released an exciting new trailer for Dune: Awakening, their highly anticipated multiplayer survival game set within the iconic "Dune" universe crafted by Frank Herbert. This latest trailer dives deep into the vast and treacherous deserts of Arrakis, giving players a tantalizing preview of the challenges and adventures that lie ahead.
In Dune: Awakening, survival hinges on exploration. Players are tasked with traversing the dangerous dunes of Arrakis to collect vital resources needed to craft essential shelters and vehicles, including battle-ready ornithopters. To streamline resource gathering, players can employ a scanner, and by strategically placing probes on higher ground, they can uncover crucial points of interest across the map.
These points of interest include everything from crashed spacecraft to deserted outposts. Accessing them often requires creativity and the right tools, such as grappling hooks, power belts, and specialized gear. All of these can be enhanced at your base using modular components, ensuring you're well-equipped to face whatever dangers Arrakis throws at you.
Dune: Awakening is slated to enter early access on May 20, exclusively for PC players. While console enthusiasts will have to wait a bit longer, they can start preparing by creating their characters and checking system performance with the benchmark tool available on Steam.
Don't forget to mark your calendars: Dune: Awakening will launch in early access on Steam on May 20. The game's Steam page already offers a character editor and performance-testing tools. A full release is planned, bringing the experience to PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
