"Deltarune's Secret 'SPECIAL ROOM' Unveils Exclusive Switch 2 Feature"

The much-anticipated Switch 2 version of Deltarune was revealed during the latest Nintendo Direct on April 2. This new version will not only include Chapters 3 and 4 but also introduce exclusive features designed specifically for the next-gen console.

Toby Fox, the creator of Deltarune, shared in a Fangamer newsletter that the Switch 2 version will feature a unique "SPECIAL ROOM" that leverages the mouse functionality of the new Joy-Cons. Fox excitedly noted, "So, we made a very small SPECIAL ROOM which takes advantage of using MOUSE CONTROLS ON TWO CONTROLLERS AT ONCE, only possible on the Nintendo Switch 2!!"

For those playing on non-Switch 2 devices, this special room will still be accessible but with an adapted control scheme. Additionally, players can seamlessly import their save files from the Nintendo Switch demo of Deltarune 1 and 2 into the new version.

Deltarune Future Chapters Will Be Free

In the same newsletter, Fox announced that Deltarune will be priced at $24.99. This price includes Chapters 1 and 2, along with the newly released Chapters 3 and 4. While Chapters 1 and 2 were released for free in 2018 and 2021 respectively, it was previously indicated that future chapters (3-5) would be paid content.

However, Fox has now confirmed that all upcoming chapters will be released as free updates. This means that players only need to purchase the game once to enjoy all future chapters at no additional cost. Fox expressed his hope that "as we complete more Chapters, you'll feel like this game was a super super super super good deal."

Additionally, the Deltarune soundtrack will be available on Steam for $14.99, featuring over 150 songs from Chapters 3 and 4. Songs from future chapters will also be added for free, ensuring that fans get the most value out of their purchase.

Deltarune Chapters 1-4 are scheduled to launch on June 5, 2025, coinciding with the release of the Switch 2.
