Darkside Detective Franchise Thrives with New Sequel Release

Akupara Games has recently released a flurry of titles. Following their deck-building game, Zoeti, comes The Darkside Detective, a quirky puzzle adventure, and its sequel, The Darkside Detective: A Fumble in the Dark (both released simultaneously!).

Exploring the Darkside Detective Universe

The game unfolds in the perpetually gloomy, fog-shrouded town of Twin Lakes, a place where the strange, the spooky, and the utterly absurd are everyday occurrences. Players control Detective Francis McQueen and his endearingly inept partner, Officer Patrick Dooley, as they tackle nine short cases. This duo forms the Darkside Division, a hilariously underfunded branch of the Twin Lakes Police Department.

These point-and-click adventures are packed with bizarre scenarios, from time-traveling enigmas and flesh-hungry tentacles to the mysteries of a carnival and mafia zombies. Check out the trailer below for a taste of the darkly comedic gameplay!

Worth a Look?

The Darkside Detective is a loving tribute to pop culture, brimming with references to classic horror films, science fiction shows, and buddy cop movies. The cases themselves boast equally catchy titles: "Malice in Wonderland," "Tome Alone," "Disorient Express," "Police Farce," "Don of the Dead," "Buy Hard," and "Baits Motel."

The game's remarkable ability to inject humor into every pixel is a highlight. Available on the Google Play Store for $6.99, The Darkside Detective and its sequel, A Fumble in the Dark, can be enjoyed independently.
