Cyberpunk 2077 Lunar DLC Details Leaked

Cyberpunk 2077 fans were thrilled to learn about a planned DLC that would have taken the game's setting to the Moon, an ambitious project that ultimately didn't see the light of day. Blogger and dataminer SirMZK has unearthed fascinating details from the game's code, revealing CD Projekt RED's grand vision for this space-themed expansion.

Within the game's files, there are references to lunar surface maps, detailed areas such as the Exterior Movie Set and Drug Lab, and even a model for a rover. The Moon was envisioned as a vast open-world environment, potentially covering a quarter of Night City's size, which would have added an entirely new layer to the gameplay experience, far removed from the familiar neon-lit streets.

One of the most intriguing elements of the proposed DLC was the Crystal Palace, an elite space station. Although it didn't make it into the final game, players can catch a glimpse of it in one of the endings when V looks out of a spaceship window. Moreover, the files hint at a prototype for a zero-gravity bar, connected to a cut quest named "201," which was linked to the Arasaka storyline.

While the Moon DLC remains a lost opportunity, fans hold out hope that some of these concepts might be revisited in CD Projekt RED's upcoming project, Orion, which aims to further expand the Cyberpunk universe. However, there has been no official word from the studio on whether these ideas will be incorporated into future releases.

Although the Moon expansion for Cyberpunk 2077 is now just a fascinating "what if" scenario, the uncovered details showcase what could have been a groundbreaking addition, merging space exploration with the game's iconic cyberpunk style.
