New Civs, Leaders, and Wonders are Coming Soon to Civ 7
Just a day after the Deluxe Edition of Civ VII launched, and barely a week before the standard edition, Firaxis revealed the 2025 Post-Launch Roadmap. The Crossroads of the World DLC will be the first major content pack, featuring two new leaders, four new civilizations, and four new natural wonders. These will be rolled out in two updates scheduled for early and late March 2025.
In the first release, Ada Lovelace will lead Great Britain and Carthage, accompanied by four new natural wonders. Later in the month, Simón Bolívar will debut alongside Nepal and Bulgaria.
While Firaxis has kept the specifics under wraps, we can make some informed predictions about the new leaders, civilizations, and wonders. Remember, these are just our best guesses, based on historical data and past game mechanics.
Ada Lovelace Leader Ability, Attributes, and Agenda Prediction
Ada Lovelace, known as the world's first computer programmer for her work on Charles Babbage’s Analytical Engine, is poised to be a science-focused leader in Civ 7. Her aristocratic background and connection to Lord Byron suggest her abilities will revolve around the Codex and Specialist mechanics, areas not yet explored by other leaders. With these bonuses, Ada Lovelace is set to guide players toward a science victory, especially when paired with Great Britain’s anticipated civ bonuses.
Simón Bolívar Leader Ability, Attributes, and Agenda Prediction
Simón Bolívar, famously known as The Liberator of America, returns to the Civilization series with a Militarist/Expansionist playstyle. His previous appearance in Civ 6 as the leader of Gran Colombia hints at his potential to utilize the new Commanders mechanic in Civ 7. Unlike Trung Trac, who focuses on building tall, Bolívar will likely use his commanders to push his forces forward, leveraging logistical prowess to expand his empire.
Carthage Unique Bonus, Unit, Infrastructure, and Wonder Prediction
Carthage, a historic trading hub in North Africa, is expected to be a naval trade and coastal-focused civilization in Civ 7. Unlike Phoenicia in Civ 6, Carthage may focus on increasing Trade Route capacity and gaining Culture bonuses from international trade. A potential bonus to the Colossus wonder could make Carthage a strong partner for civilizations like Amina's.
Great Britain Unique Bonus, Unit, Infrastructure, and Wonder Prediction
Great Britain, a staple of the Civilization series, is likely to be a Modern Age civilization in Civ 7. Its bonuses are expected to reflect Britain’s Industrial Era dominance, focusing on naval production and trade. An additional production boost from Oxford University would further enhance its science and industry capabilities, making it a formidable choice for players aiming for a science victory.
Nepal Unique Bonus, Unit, Infrastructure, and Wonder Prediction
Nepal, situated near the Himalayas and Mount Everest, is a new addition to Civ 7. As a Modern Age civilization, Nepal is likely to leverage its military history and cultural heritage, offering unique units that benefit from mountainous terrain. While the Taj Mahal is a nearby wonder, its bonuses may not align perfectly with Nepal’s playstyle, leaving us eager to see what Firaxis has planned.
Bulgaria Unique Bonus, Unit, Infrastructure, and Wonder Prediction
Bulgaria makes its Civilization debut in Civ 7, emphasizing its strategic location in the Balkans. As an Exploration Age civilization, Bulgaria’s strengths are expected to be in Military and Economy, with a focus on Cavalry and Traditions. Its historical ties to the Ottomans and the Silk Road suggest a unique approach to steady progression through Social Policies.
Crossroads of the World DLC Natural Wonder Bonus Predictions
The Crossroads of the World DLC will introduce four new Natural Wonders, which in Civ 7 provide additional Tile Yields without unique bonuses. We anticipate these new wonders will offer strategic advantages that enhance the gameplay experience for all players.
