Burglars Return to The Sims 4

After a decade of peaceful suburban life for the Sims, the unwelcome sound of breaking glass is back! The Sims 4 developers have announced a highly anticipated (though perhaps not universally welcomed) update: the return of burglars.

Just like in previous games, a strategically placed alarm system is your first line of defense. Trigger the alarm and the police will swiftly arrive to apprehend the culprit. For the tech-savvy Sim, upgrading the alarm system reduces the chance of malfunction and ensures automatic police notification. If you're caught off guard without an alarm, a quick call to the police is your next best bet (though their timely arrival is never guaranteed). Alternatively, a more diplomatic approach – befriending the burglar – might be attempted.

For those with access to more… unconventional methods, the update opens up some exciting possibilities. Sims with pets can unleash their canine companions, while spellcasters, vampires, and werewolves can employ their unique abilities to deter or subdue the intruder. A futuristic freeze ray also offers a high-tech solution. It's worth noting that these more creative approaches require the relevant expansion packs.

The good news? This burglar update is available now, and it's completely free!
