Bandai Namco to End PAC-MAN Mobile Service

Bandai Namco has announced the unfortunate decision to shut down PAC-MAN Mobile, a poignant move given that the legendary icon is celebrating its 45th anniversary this year. This version of the game, which launched over a decade ago, has been a beloved part of mobile gaming for many.

When Is the PAC-MAN Mobile Shutdown?

The official shutdown date for PAC-MAN Mobile is set for May 30th, 2025. In-app purchases have already been discontinued as of April 1st. If you're among the dedicated players who still enjoy the game, you can continue playing until the final day on May 30th.

The decision to shut down the game rather than transition it to an offline mode has left many fans disappointed. An offline version would have been welcomed by the community, potentially generating some revenue for Bandai Namco while keeping the game alive.

PAC-MAN Mobile, formerly known as PAC-MAN + Tournaments, offered more than just the classic arcade experience. It featured the iconic 8-bit arcade mode, as well as a Story Mode with numerous original mazes to navigate. Additionally, the game included an Adventure Mode with limited-time themed events, allowing players to earn exclusive skins. The Tournament Mode added weekly maze challenges across three difficulty levels, and the game boasted a wide array of skins for PAC-MAN, the ghosts, and even the joystick.

The Reason

The decision to shut down PAC-MAN Mobile likely stems from ongoing technical issues. Over the past few years, the game has struggled with accumulating bugs and problems, which may have contributed significantly to this decision.
