Running a livestock farm in Fields of Mistria can be lucrative, but the daily chore of petting your animals can quickly become tedious. Fortunately, while the base game doesn't include an auto-petter, modding offers a solution.

The Animal Friends mod by annanomoly on Nexus Mods provides an auto-pet and auto-feed function for your livestock. However, you'll also need the Mods of Mistria Installer – this is essential for the mod to work.
Here's how to install the mod:
- Create a new folder named "Mods" within your Fields of Mistria game files.
- Download
AnimalFriends.zip
from Nexus Mods and place it in the "Mods" folder. - Extract the zip file. You can then delete or move the original zip file.
- Run the Mods of Mistria Installer to install the mod.
The Animal Friends mod offers several customizable features: auto-petting, auto-feeding, a friendship multiplier, and a feature to prevent friendship loss. The multiplier increases the hearts your animals gain, while preventing loss ensures those hearts remain.
To adjust settings, locate AnimalFriends.json
within the extracted mod folder. This text file allows you to enable or disable features. Change "false" to "true" to enable, and vice-versa.
For the friendship multiplier, instead of "true" or "false," input a number between 1 and 100. A setting of 100 disables bonding, while 1 disables the multiplier.
By default, the auto-pet and auto-feed functions are off, but the heart gain is multiplied by five, and friendship loss prevention is active.
To remove the mod, use the Mods of Mistria Installer's uninstall function to avoid potential save file corruption. Always back up your save file before installing any mods.
Fields of Mistria is available on PC.
