Nintendo is ending support for Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp. The announcement of the game's End of Service (EOS) has surprised many players. The online services will cease on November 28th, 2024, marking the end of an era for this popular mobile title. This comes just days before the game's seventh anniversary on November 21st.
After October 28th, 2024, auto-renewal for Pocket Camp Club memberships will be disabled. Existing memberships will not be refunded, but players will receive a commemorative badge. The final opportunity to purchase Leaf Tickets is November 26th, and online services will officially conclude at 7:00 AM PST on November 28th.
However, there's a silver lining. Nintendo plans to release a paid offline version of the game. While features like the Market Box, gifting, and visiting friends' campsites will be absent, the core gameplay will remain. Players will retain their saved data and enjoy continued offline access. Further details on this paid version are expected around October 2024.
This closure follows a trend of Nintendo gradually discontinuing its mobile games, including Dr. Mario World and Dragalia Lost. While unexpected for some, this decision aligns with Nintendo's recent mobile game strategy.
