Delta Force, previously known as Delta Force: Hawk Ops, is now accepting pre-registrations for its mobile release on iOS and Android. This relaunch by Level Infinite, a Tencent subsidiary, marks a significant entry into the modern military shooter market, with a planned launch in late January 2025.

The game boasts diverse missions and game modes emphasizing tactical gameplay, a refreshing take on the classic Delta Force franchise. For those unfamiliar, Delta Force holds a prominent place in FPS history, predating even Call of Duty, and is known for its realistic weaponry, gadgets, and action based on the US military's elite Delta Force unit.

Level Infinite's revival features a Warfare mode offering large-scale combat reminiscent of Battlefield, and an Operations mode focusing on extraction-style gameplay. A single-player campaign, inspired by the Battle of Mogadishu and the film Black Hawk Down, is also slated for release in 2025.

Combating Cheaters

Despite high anticipation, Delta Force hasn't escaped controversy. Concerns regarding cheating, a persistent problem in online shooters, have arisen due to Tencent's aggressive anti-cheat measures, which some players find overly restrictive. While Tencent's G.T.I. Security team is dedicated to addressing this, the stringent PC release restrictions have drawn criticism.

Although cheating might be less prevalent on mobile platforms, the initial PC controversy could still impact the mobile version's reception. Nevertheless, the mobile release offers a potential opportunity to meet player expectations, given the reduced risk of cheating inherent in mobile gaming.
